This stunning Hornby R1038 ‘Orient Express’ Deluxe Set dates from 2005 and comes from a single-owner collection.
The original owner did not have a model railway layout and only purchased sets for display, so the set was unused until we tested the loco on a track prior to listing it.
The set is complete and, apart from some fading to the cardboard outer sleeve of the box, in mint condition.
The loco has been tested and runs smoothly in both directions. The set has been in storage for some years, so we would advise lubricating the loco before it is regularly used.
The set features the Merchant Navy Class locomotive ‘United States Lines’, three highly detailed ‘Orient Express’ coaches, track, controller and all accessories pictured.
The set comes withthe original 3-drawer box which is in excellent condition. The outer cardboard picture sleeve has minor storage wear and is faded in places – see photos.

Shipping methods
UK delivery is normally by Royal Mail for all orders up to 2kg.
Heavier or very large packages will be sent via courier (usually Parcelforce).
Some courier deliveries to N. Ireland, non-mainland UK addresses, and certain Scottish postcodes may attract a surcharge. We will advise you of this before dispatching your order.
Orders with a value of £100 or more will normally be sent via Royal Mail ‘Signed For’ or tracked courier free of charge.
If you wish to send items to friends, family or your place of work, our shopping cart will give you the option to specify a different billing and delivery address.
Packaging
