This is a rare 1930’s (First Edition) of ‘Buccaneer’ – the classic board game of pirates and treasure made by Waddington’s.
This edition has always been particularly sought-after because of the linen-backed, roll-up treasure map, and the beautifully crafted pieces of ‘treasure’, which are much heavier and more detailed than in all of the later editions of the game.
Complete first editions of ‘Buccaneer’ are now very hard to find – especially with all of the components in good condition.
The game we currently have for sale is without doubt the best example we have seen in over 25 years.
The game is all original and complete, and the game components (map, treasure, ships and cards) are all in superb condition.
The roll-up treasure map has no creasing or marking – just a little rubbing at the edges from storage. It in incredibly hard to find the map in this condition.
The cards look and feel as if they have just come out of the factory. It is quite possible that the game has never actually been played.
The treasure pieces are all in mint condition.
The pirate ships and sails are all in mint condition. A couple of the wooden masts (coloured matchsticks) have minor wear, but all of them are perfectly useable.
The map tube does have some storage wear (see photos) and both end caps are missing. One end has been sealed and the other is open.
The box that holds the other game components is in excellent condition with very little wear.

Shipping methods
UK delivery is normally by Royal Mail for all orders up to 2kg.
Heavier or very large packages will be sent via courier (Parcelforce 48, UPS, FedEx etc.).
Some courier deliveries to N. Ireland, non-mainland UK addresses, and certain Scottish postcodes may attract a surcharge. We will advise you of this before dispatching your order.
Orders with a value of £50 or more will normally be sent via Royal Mail ‘Signed For’ (or tracked courier) at no extra charge.
If you wish to send items to friends, family or your place of work, our shopping cart will give you the option to specify a different billing and delivery address.
